The project

A child’s drawings tell a story, but paper piles and camera rolls make that story difficult to keep. Buki gives families a place to photograph artwork, preserve the original, and organize a growing collection by child and sketchpad.

The product pairs an everyday capture workflow with the feel of a physical art book. Customizable pages, notes, dates, favorites, and voice memories help retain the context around each drawing.

Our approach

We connected paper detection, perspective correction, and artwork extraction to a mobile library. The image pipeline handles the practical work of separating the drawing from its background; Skia rendering and page-turn interactions give the result its scrapbook character.

The surrounding experience keeps child profiles under adult control. Local storage, backup, export, and deletion paths make the collection useful without turning family memories into a public feed.

What we built

Buki brings capture, organization, and animated keepsake books into one family-focused product.

  • Capture and preserve

Photograph or import a drawing and retain both the clean artwork and original image.

  • Personal sketchpads

Organize drawings into books with configurable covers, colors, borders, and layouts.

  • Keep the story

Save titles, dates, notes, tags, favorites, and private voice memories.

  • Family-controlled library

Manage child profiles, offline artwork, backup, and export from the adult’s account.
